Welcome to River Rafting with SOAR NORTHWEST - Idaho River Outfitters -
We are a premier family owned and operated river rafting and outfitting company. We operate on two World Class rivers in Idaho… the Selway River and the Main Salmon River.
Multi-day river rafting and fishing adventures are our passion. As outfitters, our approach is personal both on and off the river. We are honored to share these national treasures with you. With the river and nature as our inspiration, our goal is to provide you with a skilled, expansive and comfortable river trip experience. Rafting, side hikes, evening campfires, hearty food, natural history, wildlife sighting and emerald green swimming holes are just part of the adventure. We emphasize smaller trip sizes which can enhance the wilderness experience and the connections made both with each other, our guides and the natural world. Safety is our # 1 priority and our highly skilled, mature, and experienced river rafting guide teams are comprised of outstanding individuals. We will take great care of you! Join us for a week of ‘river time’ in one of Idaho’s amazing Wilderness areas.
Selway River Rafting
Idaho’s Selway River provides a premium and ‘off the beaten’ path opportunity for solitude and immersion in nature. It is one of the most protected and use-restricted rivers in the lower 48 as it courses through the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness. It is the only river in America to receive instant inclusion in both the Wild & Scenic River system and the National Wilderness Preservation System. We are the only company to host 6 day wilderness rafting and fishing adventures on this pristine river. Challenging whitewater, a non pressured fishery, clear water, old growth cedars, ponderosa pine, abundant wildlife, and minimal people combine to make this an outstanding and lifetime opportunity trip.

Salmon River Rafting
Idaho’s Main Salmon River cuts through the heart of Idaho’s Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness and forms the second deepest canyon in the lower 48. This river is perfect for family rafting trips and those who want to have an adventurous and historic trip through what has been called the ‘Grand Canyon’ of Idaho. The Main Salmon River is also included in the Wild & Scenic River system. This river corridor has been inhabited for nearly 8500 years beginning with Native hunter/gatherers followed by the Shoshone, Nez Pierce and other tribes. In 1805, Lewis and Clark scouted the Main Salmon before choosing an alternate northern route to the Pacific. Since then, the river corridor has attracted various hermits, resilient mountain men and women, hunters, miners, and rugged river-folk. There are rock paintings, historical cabins and homesteads, artifacts, and many true tales of the West. The Main Salmon River offers scenery, wildlife, fishing, big sandy beaches, warmer water and exciting rapids. These opportunities combine to provide a river experience perfectly suited for families, youth, those with varying physical abilities and long time river-lovers as well. In addition, SOAR Northwest actively works with various military veteran groups on the Main Salmon River offering multi day wilderness opportunities for veterans and their families.
